'Tis the Season....

...for rushing around and seeming to always be busy and still not make a dent in your 'To Do' list! Tom and I have been trying to finish decorating for Christmas among all the other things we have to do, so there are still boxes here and there and some already back in the attic. Yesterday was the basewide Christmas party, so before we went to that Tom had to go to the theater and set up the 'snow' for the play being done right now. When he got there, someone had just repainted the stage floor! He couldn't do anything until it dried, so he came home and tackled the myriad projects he has going for Christmas. His current 'thing' is make a lawn silhouette for a co-worker. She heard good things about ours and asked him to make one for her, too. The party started somewhat early and was serving 'heavy hors d'ouerves so we knew we needed to eat something beforehand--and Tom still had to go back to the theater and load the snow! Whew! (BTW--The party was first class all the way. Very nice-excellent food!)

Today was a little better, as we had nothing time-sensitive except the play. Tom did his thing and hung around until everyone else showed up, just in case he was needed. While we were there, several people wanted to make purchases from the fundraising book sale in the lobby. No one was manning the booth because the lady who should have been there had car trouble. So I volunteered to step in until she arrived. I sold a few books--and bought one myself. "God Gave Us Christmas."

Then we came home and Tom worked in the garage and I tried to print up pur Christmas card enclosure. The printer has not been right for a long time, and I finally figured out part of the problem. The little canisters had a plug in the top that said 'remove before installation.' Oops. It works a lot better now! The dishwasher is running, there is laundry is the washer and dryer, and things are getting done. There is still so much to do!

Tomorrow I will spend most of my day at the base, mailing packages to our deployed personnel. Then we have a Spouse's Group meeting in the evening where we will discuss the Children's Christmas Party details. Busy is good, it really is!
