Some Stuff

• Grand-nephew Jameson Paul was born to Amanda and Paul. Both mother and son are healthy and doing well.
• T.J. had vision correction surgery Wednesday. Jodi had an event at work she could not miss, so I went down and drove him to the base. After some delay, the surgery went ahead and, as of today, he is back at work and doing just fine. There was a monitor so we could watch the procedure. I saw the second half of T.J.'s. Once I separated myself from the fact that it was my son, it was very cool to watch. When I think about it, my eyes begin to water.
• Kimberly visited last week. Arrived Wednesday evening, the evening before the day of the horrible rains and tornado watches and flash flood warnings...we stayed in all day on Thursday, did some shopping and errand running on Friday and lots of chin-wagging the whole time she was here.
• Grand-nephew Sean Daniel was born to Lynn and Dan and Big Brother Colin. He was 8 lb., 6 oz. and his parents thought he was 'tiny' compared to Colin, who weighed over 10 lbs. at birth!
• Family Get-Together at our house on Sunday. All went well. Tom and I each really enjoyed the day, and I think most of our guests did, too. The big TV T.J. gave us was a hit for watching the Ravens win against the Steelers.
• Ryan has been coming to our house Monday evenings while Lily is at gymnastics. He likes being able to come 'without Lily.' He is a lot of fun to have here.
• Lily still comes on Tuesdays. Today, she spent a lot of time on the Playhouse Disney website. She has recently begun playing with dolls that belonged to Jen when she was a little girl--Jenny & Becky. Lily seems to like them a lot. She insisted on putting each doll in a separate seat belt before getting into her own car seat when they left.
• Jen had Lily sing a song for me today. Five words: "Glory, Glory, Hallelujah! He reigns!" Lily mispronounces 'hallelujah' very similarly to the way Jenny used to mispronounce it. So cute!
• The Summer Kitchen is almost complete and looks great! It worked very well for our party on Sunday.
• I start up again reading to preschoolers at the daycare center tomorrow.
• Friends from England will be visiting in about ten days. Totally looking forward to it!
