Heard at dinner
last night, from Ryan, age 7:
I am going to call my baby "Chubby Cheeks." When he is older, I will call him James. [considers] I guess I will have to think about his name, but when he is a baby I will call him "Chubby Cheeks."
This came about in response to something Lily did. Daddy told her he wanted her to eat more of her nourishing food in order to qualify for dessert, so Lily accepted a carrot from the salad bowl when Grandpa fished it out for her. She sat on Daddy's lap and took a bite of the carrot. Shortly, she quietly announced to him that she was ready for dessert. I looked across the table at her, and her little cheeks were all plumped out like a chipmunk! She had chewed up the carrot enough to store it in her cheeks.
Grandchildren make me laugh.
